The WordPress integration uses the built-in Application Passwords API (available since WordPress 5.6) to publish articles directly to your blog — no plugin required. Articles are created as posts with full HTML content, SEO meta tags, and a featured image.

Log in to WordPress Admin
Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin and log in with your admin account.
Open your Profile
Click your username top-right → Edit Profile, or navigate to Users → Profile.
Create an Application Password
Scroll to Application Passwords. Enter a name like "VellumUp" and click Add New Application Password.
Paste credentials in VellumUp
Enter your site URL, WordPress username, and the new Application Password. Click Test to verify, then Connect.
When an article is published in VellumUp (manually or via the Content Calendar), it is sent to your WordPress REST API as a new post. Title, content, meta description, focus keyword, and featured image are all included. If the article was previously published to WordPress, it is updated in place.
